I’ve been thinking about this Howard Thurman quote lately.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
I think that’s right. My very best moments with clients are when I see them quicken and sit up straighter, as they reach clarity about what they want and how they might get it. Even though I expect it, I don’t know when it will come and it’s an exciting and delightful moment to witness.
I’ve observed a pattern with smart people who are feeling stuck. They recognize the problem.
